It looks like this is the expected behaviour. See the manual page for the -q
flag: "grep will only search a file until a match has been found".

You can also do `ldd /lib/path 2>/dev/null | fgrep -q patt` or `ldd /lib/path |
fgrep patt > /dev/null`, the later being probably preferred.
