A FreeBSD User wrote in <[email protected]>: > in a pkg pakcage installation, the way back to install the system via > > make installkernel/make installworld > > after custom builds is polluted by an annoying required DESTDIR=/ you are not supposed to add DESTDIR=/. as the message says: ERROR: This target should not be used on a system installed from packages. the only reason DESTDIR=/ is suggested as a workaround is for extremely uncommon edge cases where you can't depkgbasify the system normally. i see someone else already provided the correct solution here. (since this is not the first time this has come up, i am going to change this message to be more forceful, probably along with another change to make known-safe installkernels not require it.)
