git rebase -i main nfs-over-rdma
git push freebsd HEAD:main

is the simplest way to do that (assuming the FreeBSD source of truth
upstream is called 'freebsd').

Or is there something more basic I need to help with?

I usually run my branches through Phabricator so I use "git arc stage" to
do much the same thing.
