I got it working. Thank you very much.

At the head of the kernel module source you noted that this has been inspired by the GSoC-2018 work.

That one I got working as well. Only when using the original GSoC-2018 code built-in to the kernel, I see hundreds of warnings "gpioc2: Unhandled interrupt on pin 3.“, while your kernel module works without warnings.

Please may I ask you for some more details what is the actual difference between the GSoC-2018 work and your work - besides the obvious one that your builds a module.
