So you should be fine with reverting fixup4.dat AND start4.elf to older version. If you don’t have compatible files available just now, You can download older versions here : https://sourceforge.net/projects/d26853-bcm2711-rpi-4-b-dtb/files/ (inside the rpi4_pack_freebsd.zip) This should boot up your rpi fro USB/SSD & of course give you access to your keyboard.
