Thank you for all replies. I think my problem was that RPi comes with a very old firmware. While installing latest raspbian it was now updated and FreeBSD able to boot. Moreover, it detects USB storage (SSD via USB->SATA) and correctly boots from it. I think it would be great to add this to wiki.
