Git core dump checking out main on armv7

Git dumped core while trying to check out main on an armv7 RPi2.
The core file is about half a GB, which seems oddly large. I've
placed a copy at
http://www.zefox.net/~fbsd/git.core
in case anybody's willing to look at it.
