the current status of u-boot(don`t know what edkII does ) is that 
the classic technique of integrating upstream-patches(and own patches) is in use,
means that you can read what you want from any dtb`s: it will not help for now
to speed up some valuable for us.
to be more concrete:e.g.  pcie dts is what we should track
