It doesn't matter who compiles the DTS files into dtb which currently land in FreeBSD as they are identical to the RPI-Linux sources. Upstream-dts-patches are made to develop drivers by using their compat strings. So you can choose who or what is your upstream or what you cherry pick to patch for your needs.or Patch yourself by need.
