It absolutely will and does; my "HomeDaemon" software boots and runs 
this way (layout similar to Ronald's) /and so does my AMD64 build that 
boots and runs on both older MBR-only firewall hardware such as 
pcEngines /and *_also_* boots and runs on EFI-only small formfactor 
Intel/AMD boxes that are around today and much faster.
