Thanks for yours detailed bug reports (better go to bugzilla?) (I also own these old&newer PI4s)...

Yes, that's the point. 
I think we need to ensure/maintain 
 that the correct u-boot/firmware -versions end up in the matching releases.
(perhaps releases/patches even for every single board revision for Pi4/5)
I hope to find the time for that soon…
