my solution to this was to run full qemu vm

i battled and still battle with all other options and still haven't got it working yet. maybe i will. including poudriere crossbuild

i gave up multiple times, just took cross compiled system (unsure why THAT always workss?) and ran it in vm. only downside is that this is slow. somehow this was even slower before. but still, some operations, not even build related, could be several thousand times slower than host which is ridiculous

but it works, so if all else fails, you at least have option
