Might https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=252165 be relevant?

It was opened in 2020 and seems to still be active, updated 2026-03-16
16:00:12 UTC. Subject: usb network and mii bus media status race condition

Is there any possibility the two problems are somehow related? If so,
that might be a mechanism to attract more interest.

In the meantime, your patch continues to allow graceful shutdown
of a Pi2B (armv7) system while an unpatched system crashes regularly
if wired ethernet is connected. Both are running -current. No bad
side effects so far.

Thanks for your help!
