Thanks. I have two thoughts.

1. if_axge is now auto-loaded. Would it act different if you load it earliier in /boot/loader.conf or via kld_list in /etc/rc.conf?
2. would it help to set ifconfig_ue0="up inet ..." in /etc/rc.conf?
