D0 RPi5 EDK2 rpi5-uefi update effort is in progress and is looking for ipxe and/or httpboot testing

MattP "NumberOneGit" of rpi5-uefi fame has been in contact about his
in-progress work on a sizable update to the D0 RPi5 rpi5-uefi and its ACPI.

As stands for that work so far, "MIP0 rp1" interrupt controller is in
use for things connected to the RP1 itself, Ethernet use by EDK2 itself
is in development and, while it has a preliminary fan support, the fan
support is intended to be replaced before any general release. The
intent for the fan is to be set up to involve an OS ACPI driver rather
than just be internal to ACPI. (So the fan might end up being
ineffective for the FreeBSD OS unless the FreeBSD kernel has or ends up
with such an ACPI driver.)

The ipxe and/or httpboot testing would be for Ethernet use inside EDK2
itself.

None of this work has been pushed to github yet.

Later releases may also cover some of: bluetooth, bluetooth UART,
thermal sensor.

As stands, the C1 and D0 stepping support are on separate branches in
his environment but it appears there is an intent to eventually support
both one way or the other.


A possible implication for the "Need testers for ALPHA RPi-5 fan
control, GE NIC, WiFi drivers for FreeBSD-CURRENT" effort is that an
updated EDK2 and this work might start to conflict at some point.
