There isn't even any random noise as the Pi4 reboots. RasPiOS makes a little noise during reboot on a Pi5 during reboot. In fairness, I've _never_ tried to get audio output under FreeBSD on the test host. If there are configuration changes needed hopefully someone can point them out. The monitor is presently in the HDMI port closest to the USB power plug, if that makes any difference. Thanks for reading, bob prohaska
