The branch main has been updated by bms: URL: https://cgit.FreeBSD.org/src/commit/?id=9fffb4e098591c703f10b641266cb46278568419 commit 9fffb4e098591c703f10b641266cb46278568419 Author: Bruce M Simpson <[email protected]> AuthorDate: 2026-08-02 07:43:11 +0000 Commit: Bruce M Simpson <[email protected]> CommitDate: 2026-08-03 11:27:45 +0000 netinet6: We will never support the KAME :: feature to listen for all groups. Comment updated only. No functional change. It is unrealistic to expect that this feature will ever be resurrected from the legacy KAME tree, given historical divergence, and that applications which really need to consume all group state (e.g. proxies) will either join on a per-group basis, or use link-layer mechanisms anyway. It was also very poorly documented to begin with. --- sys/netinet6/in6_mcast.c | 3 --- 1 file changed, 3 deletions(-) diff --git a/sys/netinet6/in6_mcast.c b/sys/netinet6/in6_mcast.c index a204ad88a9a5..bc7da2d14a04 100644 --- a/sys/netinet6/in6_mcast.c +++ b/sys/netinet6/in6_mcast.c @@ -1936,9 +1936,6 @@ out: /* * Join an IPv6 multicast group, possibly with a source. * - * FIXME: The KAME use of the unspecified address (::) - * to join *all* multicast groups is currently unsupported. - * * XXXGL: this function multiple times uses ifnet_byindex() without * proper protection - staying in epoch, or putting reference on ifnet. */
