yeah i have succesfully installed and run jdeveloper
on freebsd. here's my setup:

%uname -a
FreeBSD buttstation 5.4-RELEASE FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE
#6: Sun May 15 11:44:48 PHT 2005    
root@buttstation:/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/BUTTSTATION
 i386

%java -version
java version "1.4.2-p7"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition
(build 1.4.2-p7-buttmanizer_08_jul_2005_09_48)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build
1.4.2-p7-buttmanizer_08_jul_2005_09_48, mixed mode)
