Made a few adjustments.
But I'm worried about the build with the PYTHON option:

running install_scripts

WARNING: Installation path is not in current module search path!
         This might happen on OSes / distributions which only maintain
         packages by a vendor-specific method.
Hints:
- Check how the distribution handles user-installable Python packages.
- Using setuptools directly might be deprecated on the distribution.
- Using "pip install ./vboxapi" within a virtual environment (virtualenv)
  might fix this.

Installed to:
/tmp/work/usr/ports/emulators/virtualbox-ose-71/work/stage/usr/local/lib/python3.11/site-packages/
Global site packages directories are:
        /usr/local/lib/python3.11/site-packages
