I am closing this as the configure failure was resolved in the ports tree by
madpilot@ enabling the STATIC option by default for
emulators/qemu-user-static-devel. The sizeof(size_t) mismatch on FreeBSD
16-CURRENT no longer occurs with the corrected default options.
