Yes it is using delegations! As the filesystems are generated exclusively for a
single client, I thought this appropriate. 
I did set vfs.nfsd.issue_delegations=1 into /etc/sysctl.conf on the server,
yes.

And on the clients when NOT enabling nfscbd I have not seen the delays. When
enabling nfscbd, they appear or (currently) do not appear, I don't really know
when and why.
