I'm a bit confused by this statement: judging by the output, it looks like you
can no longer reproduce the bug, is this correct?  Or it could be read as "the
reproducer is still working, ergo the bug still manifests itself."  Just want
to clarify.

On my side, I've updated to 13.5-RELEASE not so long ago, against the same
ext4fs filesystems, and haven't seen zeroed out files since then.
