I have locally applied the patch from review D58346 and it seems to have fi=
xed
the issue for me.

It has also significantly improved the hit ratio and effectiveness of the L=
2ARC
in my use case.

It seems the cache device needs to be destroyed and the attached to the pool
again to start from a clean state to avoid getting bad checksums after appl=
ying
this patch. (I did not and it took several reboots to get the L2ARC into a
state that uses the full capacity and does not report checksum errors.)
