if it solves no problem other than versions look "normal" now, it would solve no problem at all, it creates a problem instead

fun, i grew up with computers and as a teen i once assumed that there's version law that defines version as a.b.c.d and nothing else is allowed at all

i know why this is done, so it will be nice and simple and easy to parse or sort or ...
