if we release fbsd as 31.3.3.7, which problem it resolves? if it solves no problem other than versions look "normal" now, it would solve no problem at all, it creates a problem instead fun, i grew up with computers and as a teen i once assumed that there's version law that defines version as a.b.c.d and nothing else is allowed at all i know why this is done, so it will be nice and simple and easy to parse or sort or ... but what does the switch solve? ever wanted to turn fbsd logo violet colored just for sake of change? : p or perhaps red is evil and communist as a reason. or, i hope they were joking, but horns are satanic. good to know that religious people also use fbsd but anyway... i was reading this discussion and don't see pressing reason. except maybe this global anxiety that started with covid19, further "enhanced" by ua war
