Hi Joe,

Thank you for checking with John Baldwin.

I am familiar with Abhinav Chavali's work. He was last year's GSoC
contributor for VMM(4) accelerator support for QEMU, and he has been
informally mentoring me since January, helping me understand the
codebase architecture and the current state of the implementation.

Through this, I found that there are still some open issues worth
tackling:{ multi-core SMP support is currently broken, there are memory
segment limitations that cause crashes on VM reset, and the
implementation is tied to the i440fx chipset} which limits compatibility
with newer machine types. I have also fixed a few bugs in QEMU related
to the VMM backend during this time.

I also wanted to ask, is it possible for a past GSoC contributor like
Abhinav to serve as an official mentor for this year's project? That
would make things much more straightforward given that he is already
guiding me.

Thanks again for your time and help.

Best regards,
Shane
