It can now be done in "main". (It was done by a very recent commit.)

As for "default", that is a different story.
1 - FreeBSD has a concept called POLA, which basically means
     "when a new version is installed, it works the same by default".
     For example, if a small 32bit armv7 system saw a regression
     for this default change, it would be considered a POLA violation,
     I think?
2 - It requires other things, such as kern.ipc.maxsockbuf, to be increased.
     (Increasing this a lot would need to be done by the transport folk,
      if they felt it appropriate.)

So, I suspect it won't be the default, but can be done with entries
in /etc/sysctl.conf plus an entry in /etc/rc.conf for
nfs_server_maxio.
