Just because you don't agree with his reasoning, that does not make it any less valid.  That's still no excuse for the attacks.

Can you point to which changes to a stable branch you're objecting to?  I'm looking to the changes to mixer(8) that were cherry-picked after stable/14 branched, and none of these seem particularly breaking and I probably would have made the same decisions.
