Yes, without various checks it expands to (struct cmsghdr *)((char *)(cmsg) + \ _ALIGN(((struct cmsghdr *)(cmsg))->cmsg_len)) Although there is no alignment problem (assuming cmsg is properly aligned and _ALIGN is correct), this violates -Wcast-align.
