If you don't have a disc in the CD drive Inserting a DVD in the driver after booting and accessing the driver (e.g. mounting it) works just fine. Resetting the device with a DVD inserted also properly detaches, attaches and detect media. So, fundamentally, things are working. I need to reproduce the problem again before I can analyze it further.
