All, Due to a lack of time, I didn't make 9.1-RELEASE when the release was being made. With a little bit of prodding (thanks Jerome!) I spent the time last week to make one. It took me a while (see below), but the good news is that 9.1-RELEASE available for download on selected mirrors. The reason it took a while is two-fold: the FreeBSD cluster was undergoing changes and I couldn't build on cluster machines like I normally do. So, I decided to built the release on my own machine. Well, that triggered many panics, which I later found out was because I had preemption enabled in my kernel. Rather than revert that change, I started debugging. I'm pleased to announce that the root cause problem was nailed down and fixed and that the stability problems that pestered ia64 should be gone for the most part. Unfortunately, the fix cannot be in 9.1-RELEASE, but it will be committed to 9-stable shortly.
