Acer TravelMate 341T - cannot shutdown

One more thing I forgot to mention, Xorg seems to stuck in 640x480
resolution, while I specifically typed only 800x600 resolution for all color
depth. Any attempt to change it from Gnome or KDE will only show 640x480.
Weird behavior.
