I have recently bought a Samsung X20 (XVM-1600-V).  It's a
standard Centrino (no Duo or amd64), but I'm extremely
satisfied.  It has 1 GB RAM, nice 1400 x 1050 display
and everything you usually need.  And best of all, every-
thing is supported by FreeBSD, including ACPI, sound, 2D
and 3D graphics acceleration, USB, Network interface etc.
The fan is not very noisy and doesn't come up very often,
except of course when doing heavy stuff like "buildworld".
Dynamically adjusting the CPU speed with powerd(8) works
very well.

One thing which I've not tried (and which I suspect that
it doesn't work) is the built-in modem.  Oh, and another
thing which I've not tried is suspend/resume, because I
use the notebook primarily as a workstation on my desk.

Also, the price is very reasonable, and Samsung's customer
service is very helpful and responsive.
