problems with wi and orinoco card

im trying to get my freebsd 4.6 stable to work with my orinoco ap cell 
i get it to talk with the base the diagnostic program indicats that the signal 
is ok and vorking but i cant get any ip trafic on it the local card ansvers 
to ping but not the base.
