option #2, does USB work on the i950 (i945GM) or i900 (i915GM) based notebooks?

in FreeBSD 6.1 or earlier preferably?

I'm looking at some inexpensive notebooks, but the i950 based notebook has 
too small of an HD, and I'll need an external USB drive for many of my uses.
