The only downside is it uses a binary library that's 32-bit only (I wanted it for my amd laptop but haven't been able to figure out how to cobble together a 32-bit app to work on the 64-bit system). http://shapeshifter.se/articles/upek_touchchip_freebsd/ has an article about using it. I just looked but didn't find the freebsd port for it (pretty sure there is one).
