Hi all. Just set up freebsd on an hp pavilion dv2500 and after setting
up /boot/loader.conf
with all the appropriate modules and the intel license agreement line
ifconfig wpi0 up
brings up a line that says "wpi0: radio transmitter is turned off"
even though I know the switch is in the "on" position. The switch is
supposed to glow blue when it's on, but it's red. pciconf -lv reports
this as my wireless device:

10418086 Intel 3945ABG Wireless LAN controller.

I don't have any ethernet cable and I can't get on the internet with
the laptop in question right
now. After doing sysctl debug.wpi=-2 followed by ifconfig wpi0 up I got this in
/var/log/messages:
