I added this to my rc.conf
wlans_wpi0="wlan0"
ifconfig_wlan0="WPA DHCP"
Just as a quick way to to check  for the driver.
I now get this when I do ifconfig -a

That seems like a step in the right direction. I have not had a chance 
to test it on the wpa wireless yet. I will do so in a bit.
