Re: Sound on VAIO PCG-R505EL

That looks like the Intel chip that I have in my desktop.  Hav you tried
loading snd_ich.ko at boot time?  I think that driver is one of those that
just can't be compiled in (licensing or something) and must be loaded
dynamically.

'cat /dev/sndstat' on my box yields:

    : jmalone@usda; cat /dev/sndstat
    FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm)
    Installed devices:
    pcm0: <Intel 82801BA (ICH2)> at io 0xe800, 0xef00 irq 10 bufsz 16384
    (1p/1r/0v channels duplex)
