I did check _all_ of these references, richard, I'm not lazy.  The
laptop compatibility guide hasn't been updated in over a year.  Google
just pulls up pages of problems that people have with a particular
laptop.

Pricewatch has a lousy interface, and is only useful once you know the
exact model you want!  It's frustrating even looking for a video card on
pricewatch!
