Xircom RBEM56G-100 on CURRENT

Hello,
I searched through the list archives for both current and mobile, and
did find references to making this ethernet adapter work, but not
actually how to do it. So here goes...

I am running FreeBSD 5.0-RC3 on a Toshiba Tecra 8000. I am trying to
use a Xircom RealPort CardBus Ethernet 10/100+Modem 56 (RBEM56G-100) on
it and running into problems. The device is recognized at boot time,
yet I am unable to bring it up. The machine freezes if I try to do
anything ifconfig-related to the card.
Has anyone ever had this particular problem, was able to fix it, and
would be able to provide details on how to do so? I am only interested
in the ethernet portion of this card, so if the modem portion cannot
work it does not matter to me at all. I have included my dmesg output
for reference. I believe I have all necessary features configured in
the kernel.

Thanks in advance,
Jason
