USB problem on Asus notebook

Hello!

I've recently got an handbook, an ASUS L7300.

I've succesfully installed a FreeBSD 4.5p2 (RELENG_4_5) setup and it
works well , PCMCIA ethernet and PCM sound included :-)

My only problem is with the USB controller.

dmesg strings are:

uhci0: <Intel 82443MX USB controller> port 0x1c00-0x1c1f at device 7.2
on pci0
usb0: <Intel 82443MX USB controller> on uhci0
usb0: USB revision 1.0

(note the absence of the "irq N" part on uhci0: string!)

and "usbdevs -v" gives:

Controller /dev/usb0:
addr 1: self powered, config 1, UHCI root hub(0x0000), Intel(0x0000),
rev 0x0100

 port 1 powered
 port 2 powered

(note that on the notebook backside there is just one USB port...)

Problem is that when I plug an USB device like a Logitech mouse or an
external ISDN TA, nothing happens. I mean, the device does not turn on.
After few seconds kernel prints "uhub0: device problem, disabling port
1".

an "usbdevs -v" with the mouse plugged gives "port 1 enabled" instead
of "port 1 powered" but ums0: does not work.

What could be the problem ?
Maybe the USB controller is not well working ? (broken ?)
Or the BIOS setup ?


Please help, any hint is welcome! :-)
