I have not yet taken the plunge to attempt installing FreeBSD on my little
Sony PCG-SR7K sub-notebook, but I have managed, after much fiddling, to
get Mandrake Linux working. I use a U.S. Robotics wireless NIC talking to
an Airport base station. The final obstical to success was WEP, which
worked in Windows 2000. The Linux driver had options for WEP, and I got
the key from the Airport, same as I did for Windows, but this setup only
works with WEB turned off. Then it works perfectly.

Dos anyone know why WEP is such a challenge?
