mouse, wheel and touchpad

I installed KDE 3.1 on my Dell 8000 and it runs quite fine (despite from being as slow as windoze - nothing compares to a bare bones X11 running twm :-) I was pleasantly that the mouse wheel was working such that it scrolls the scrollbar. But when I use the touchpad instead the window contents runs berzerq and I have no chance to do any useful action with the touchpad. Anyone else seen this? -- Chris Christoph P. U.
