Howto change console screen size?

I have Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo A with radeon igp. Console screen looks
like this

Is it possible to change console size to 1024x768 mode? I had no luck
with vidcontrol. Is there any another way? Enabling framebuffer or
something like that?  Fn+anykey  - no go.
