Only tangentially related, but does anyone have opinion on the feasibility
of porting the slmodem code from linux? Smartlink people told me that for
the latest 2.9 version "most of modem stuff is done as user-mode
posix-style application". FWIW, source is at
ftp://ftp.smlink.com/linux/unsupported/
