PC Card modem

I recently got a Zoom/Modem V.92 PC Card for my Laptop (Sony PCG-F580), 
the build in one doesn't work
with FreeBSD.  I'm running 4.9 Rel. The Kernel detects it fine however X 
locks up.

Has anyone got one of these to work and how?
