Problem getting Palm to connect

Hi all, My wife has a Tungsten E we are trying to connect to a 4.10 workstation. I rebuilt the kernel with the needed devices, and added an entry to usbd.conf. But when I hit 'hotsync' on the palm, it timed out. Obviously there is a lot that could have gone wrong.
