Have you tried disabling ACPI and/or APIC?  Have you done anything to   
try to troubleshoot the problem?  For instance booting verbose?  If     
so, you should let us know so that we have a better idea of what the    
problem is.  If you haven't, you could have and gotten more and better  
responses from the mailing lists, if it still didn't work...
