Soon it should be as simple as doing

ifconfig an0 mediaopt ibss
ifconfig wi0 mediaopt ibss

Also, the above WILL NOT WORK AT ALL if you have old firmware on your
lucent cards.  The old lucent cards won't do true 802.11b ibss mode
before about 6.04 or so.  If your firmware is too old, you lose.
