How do i enable --enable-xft?

Do i have to write "--enable-xft" in the mozilla's port makefile or put 
it in the command line when doing "make install"? Can i use that option 
in the tar.gz file (14400KB) from ftp.mozilla.org or the only option i 
have is really the big 30MB source?

Can't wait to have decent looking fonts on mozilla!
